illustration festival
Every time I come to Braga for the illustration festival that called Braga em Risco, I feel that same genuine excitement of being back in this ancient city. Living in central Portugal, I can clearly feel the contrast between the northern Portugal and Lisbon — a difference that is both cultural and deeply human really.
Braga always feels cozy and welcoming, and once you arrive, you're instantly immersed in its unique atmosphere — as if the city gently wraps itself around you.
This year, the festival took place at the Tibaes Monastery, a truly special place — calm, peaceful, surrounded by nature and flowing streams. It felt especially symbolic, as the theme of festival this year was “Natureza” (Nature from Portuguese).
I presented 11 illustrations made with colored pencils in a graphic technique, and I also led an open collage workshop that was available to everyone interested. What can I say.. I love Braga.
Some places feel like home the moment you arrive.
