Nastya (Anastasia) Varlamova is a Russian artist and illustrator based in Portugal.

In 2014, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration from the British Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow.

Throughout her practice, Nastya has developed a multifaceted illustration career, collaborating with agencies such as BBDO and BangBang in Moscow and creating memorable visual campaigns for a variety of brands.

Living in Portugal since 2019, Nastya finds profound inspiration from the diversity of greens found in Madeira and São Miguel to the expansive skies and ornamental details embedded in the local visual culture.

Nastya has also participated in Portuguese illustration festivals including Braga em Risco and Fólio Ilustra in Obidos.

Nastya is fascinated by the interaction of forms in space, both geometric and all kinds of imaginative, constructive, and linear in their rhythm, orderliness, balance, or chaos. She explores form as spatial weaving, as the transfer of the emotional into some structure that exists in balance/harmony within the defined boundaries of the page. Artist thinks through form and organises her thoughts through balanced compositions.
