Nastya (Anastasia) Varlamova is a Russian artist and illustrator based in Portugal.
She graduated in 2014 from the University of Hertfordshire (British Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow)
with a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration.
Alongside her artistic work, she has built a multifaceted career in applied illustration, collaborating with agencies such as BBDO and BangBang and producing visual campaigns for a wide range of brands.
Since relocating to Portugal in 2019, Nastya has drawn deep inspiration from the landscape and visual culture surrounding her, from the dense greens of Madeira and São Miguel to vast skies and ornamental urban details. She has participated in illustration festivals including Braga em Risco and PiM! Fólio Ilustra in Óbidos.
Her practice focuses on the interaction of forms in space. Working with geometric, linear, and imagined structures, she treats composition as a way of translating emotion into order, tension, balance, and harmony within the boundaries of the page.
